       Oil painting of Jimi Hendrix - simple steps. 

       Step 1: roughly blocking in the composition using burnt umber

       and white over soft salmon base ( primed canvas). 

       Step 2. A little further along-  almost ready for color.

  

     Step 3: adding color to background

  

      Step 4: adding color to main figure, focusing on 

      lights, darks and contrast.

 

     Step 5: highlights and final glazes, done!

     Size: 30" x 40"
